
Salta – Wining and Dining on Cloud 9 (6 Days)
Day 1
Upon your arrival at the Salta Airport you will be taken to your hotel.
Dinner is at Jose Balcarce Restaurant and will feature “high altitude”
cuisine of the region. Set in a 120 year old home, this restaurant
features exquisite food of pre-colonial times made with many local ingredients.
Day 2
After breakfast you will travel by car to the Calchaquies Valley and
you will have lunch at Cachi Restaurant. After lunch you will depart
for Estancia & Bodega Colomé (Colomé Ranch & Winery), an absolutely
gorgeous boutique lodge and winery perched at 2,300 meters (7,546 feet)
above sea level. In the evening, after an afternoon rest, you will
tour the winery and dine there as well.
Day 3
After breakfast you will have an informal presentation with a local
wine expert which will explain local wine making. Afterwards you will
engage in a cooking class with the Chef Ariel Castro. Lunch will be
based on your own creations. In the afternoon, you will depart for
the city of Cafayate where you will stay at the Cafayate Wine Resort.
The location, the food, the wine here are incredible. In the evening,
after an afternoon rest, you’ll dine at the resort’s restaurant.
Day 4
After breakfast you will engage in your second cooking lesson with
the resort Chef and enjoy your own culinary masterpiece for lunch.
In the afternoon you will visit several local wineries and you will
finish off the day with dinner at Patios de Cafayate, an absolutely
magnificent and luxurious resort with stunning views.
Day 5
After breakfast you will drive back to Salta. You will have lunch
in town. You’ll have part of the afternoon for resting or wandering
thru the beautiful streets of Salta. In the evening you will go on
a wonderful night time tour of the city which will conclude with a toast
on the San Bernardo mountaintop. To cap things off, we will take you
out for a great dinner to sample an assortment of great regional favorites.
Day 6
Breakfast, hotel check-out and transfer to the airport.

Wine Resort (6 day program)
Price: US$2,650 per person Non-Cooking Participants:
US$2,500 per person
Single Occupancy: Add US$750 per person.
Included: Airport transfers, lodging (double occupancy), 2 cooking lessons, all meals as indicated on the schedule, tickets for any attractions listed on the schedule, and ground transportation during the tour. Soft drinks and a reasonable amount of wine are served with lunches and dinners included in the program.
Not included: Airfare, airport taxes, gratuities (tips), travel and medical insurance, alcoholic or other specialty drinks not included with program meals.
